The Bespoke Chef is a Private Chef and Catering Service in Christchurch. Lead by Chef Jacob McKerrow, Jacob is a professionally trained chef with a Diploma of Culinary Arts and over 12 years’ experience in the industry. Jacob leads a team of skilled Chefs who work with him for their many catering events.

Award-winning Chef

After completing his training in Christchurch, Jacob spent time in Auckland working under now TV Celebrity and Chef Michael Van De Elzen in the award winning Molten Restaurant. Since returning to Christchurch he has worked in intimate restaurants such as Black Estate Winery, Szen, and Leinster Road Bistro.

Since creating The Bespoke Chef in 2017 the business has won the Christchurch Caterer of the Year 2019 and become one of the most renowned private chef and catering services in the region.

Delicious and plentiful seasonal produce

It was after the Christchurch Earthquakes when the restaurant Jacob worked at was destroyed, that Jacob discovered a gap in the catering market. One where fine restaurant quality food could be served to private groups, catered events and wedding functions. It was from this The Bespoke Chef was born.

Jacob is inspired by the delicious and plentiful seasonal produce we have here in Christchurch and Canterbury. His goal is to create delicious well-presented dishes and canapes that showcase the area’s high-quality produce. As everyone has different preferences with food Jacob provides a specialty bespoke service to ensure individual tastes are not only met but exceeded.
